Brag

I have to take a second to brag on Gary. Being the procrastinators that we are, Randy just picked up Gary's report card from the school today. He rounded out the year with straight A's again. I don't expect anything less from him, but am just as proud each time he gets his report card!

Is grocery shopping blogworthy?

You bet your sweet momma's potroast it is!!!! Randy, Landon, Gary, and I took a family trip to Wally-mart in Minden last night after church without eating supper first.... two and a half hours, three buggy loads, $619.00, and a tickle me elmo chair later we loaded the car to head back to Haughton. At 12:30 this morning, I finally had all the groceries put away. Randy said, "We gotta call MawMaw & PawPaw!" This morning Gary said, "We gotta call somebody and tell them about this!" I told them both, "No, this is blogworthy!!"

Singing in the Rain

Neighbors wondered, "When did dad put a whrilpool in our yard?"

Babies thought "I have to get my brand new shoes in a puddle before they realize I'm in a diaper!"

Boys hunted crawfish...

"Mom, this was the funnest day I ever had!"

Yea, we all had a little extra fun playing in the rain last Tuesday.

Lock up your little girls!

It's my first try at "video publishing" and too cute not to share!

Worm Update

While working on the driveway yesterday, Randy and Gary uncovered a worm bed. They were huge and Gary couldn't wait to get a wiggler in his hands. He and Landon had a great time playing with them until...one pooped on Gary! He was shocked and this time, I laughed hysterically. It wasn't enough to turn him off though. He wiped his hands on his shirt, took it off, and grabbed another worm. Landon followed suit with the poop on the shirt idea, but let Gary do the worm-taming from then on.

Right of Passage

For any mothers that ever think "I wish I had boys", let me introduce you to our world. I watched How to Eat Fried Worms a couple of weeks ago with my three. Landon hasn't begun to worship the tv yet, but Randy and Gary were glued to the set! This movie should be required viewing for every mother that finds out she's going to have a bouncing baby boy, then by the father when the child reaches adolescence. For dads, it's quality entertainment, a flashback to his own youth, and good 'ole father-son bonding ; for the son, it's realistic good vs. evil, where 'good with a twist' ultimately triumphs; for mom, it's a right of passage, the in-your face reality that, boys are boys, period! I thought the glory of "Fried Worms" has passed until yesterday when I found one in the dirt, showed it to Gary, and heard this teeth clenching question, "Cool, Mom, can I eat it?". For a split second he got me and I screamed "NO!" I had fallen into his trap and he laughed hysterically. Even though my boys are indeed yucky filthy typical boys, I wouldn't trade them (worms and all) for the world!

And the madness begins...

Gary had his first "date" last night. Sidney asked him to attend Susan's School of Dance's friend day with her. Apparently every girl in Haughton already dances there, so several of the 1st grade girls decided to ask BOYS to go with them. Gary was one of the lucky ones. He was one of four boys to actually show up. After learning to sashay and spin, their MALE teacher let them "freeze dance" the rest of the session. We won't be signing up for classes, but he did have a fun time....

Gary and Sidney (notice two other BOYS in the background :-) )

Gary, Madison, and Emily
With this all said and done, let me give God ALL THE GLORY for His infinite wisdom in giving me boys!

I got mine...did you?

I got my cheek swabbed...have you been tested yet? Bone Marrow testing doesn't end until 8 p.m. tonight so if you haven't been yet, find Ballroom A at Sams Town Casino and do your part. I sent my letter to Oprah, had my cheek swabbed, and was left thinking, what next? What else can I do to help Ethan Powell? Then the Holy Spirit slapped me in the forehead.....keep praying! If you've been under a rock for the past two months and have no idea what I'm talking about, follow the link to the right and read up on Ethan Powell. He's living breathing proof that PRAYER WORKS!

What's the deal girls?

What happened to the Woollen 5? I'm locked out!! And the Keith's need to stir up a little bit of "khaos"!!!! Shall I send Randy your way?

Brown Chicken

Being the EXTREMELY picky eater that he is, I often question Gary about his lunch if I haven't sent it to school that day. Last night he said, "We had a good lunch. It was chicken." I asked, "Chicken nuggets?" He thought a minute, "No...You know the kind of chicken that schools have, it looks like flat chicken strips, but when you bite it, the chicken inside is brown?" "Oh, yea, I know that kind!" I held my laughter until I was out of the room. I returned to ask him more about the "brown chicken." I revealed to him that indeed it wasn't chicken, but steak fingers. He gasped, smiled real big, and said, "I ate something healthy, and i liked it!!!!!!" I told him steak was packed with protein which makes big muscles...the shirt came off and he ran around the house bearing his muscles and grunting as loud as he could.

Round One

I'm following suit after two other great friends. I'll give this blog thing a shot and see what comes of it. Living in a house with three mischievious males is a guarantee for action-packed stories. Enjoy...
