Just in case

I just received a nice awakening. I was randomly perusing the Bossier Assessor's site and noticed that our house had not claimed homestead exemption. I immediately called Randy who made a bee-line to the assessor's office to straighten out the matter. He explained to them that our title company had filed the forms for our homestead exemption. She said, "they tell people that all the time, but they don't even have the forms!" After a little sweet-talking (which is Randy's forte') she backdated our homestead exemption and is crediting our escrow account with the overage that was paid last year (a pretty nice chunk of change!). Thank you, nice assessor's office lady! If you didn't receive a homestead exemption card in the mail last month, you might want to check and make sure yours is filed correctly.

Nighty Night...Sleep Tight

Landon has developed an interest in Bob the Builder. No harm in that. Gary loved Bob, too. I asked him if he watches it at school and Randy innocently said, "No, it's on YouTube." (which Landon and Randy look at each evening before going to bed). Last night I discovered the real fascination behind "Bob." So, I can handle that. Bob is a pretty cute rock star. But later on, I was awakened by "Spongebob"...... Our "going to bed routine" is in the reorganization phase--effective immediately!

See ya!

Landon is at that "talking" age and gets funnier every day! Gary's tried to teach him, "See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!" so Landon says, "Don't wanna see ya, don't wanna be ya!"

Top Notch Artist

Congratulations to Mr. Gary Wilson who scored a rating of Superior from a panel of judges that he played for at Broadmoor Baptist's Hymn Festival. In just a few short weeks he mastered "Come Thou Almighty King" and dazzled his audience with a stunning performance. Be sure to ask for an encore next time you see him!

Chronic Lyricosis

Flashback...mid 80's when everyone listened to "Tux 99" with Shotgun Ken Shepherd and Bobby Cook...they used to play an episode in the mornings about folks with "chronic lyricosis" (people who messed up the words to songs)

Apparently, my children suffer from this narrowing disease! Gary loves the disco song "Shake your groove thang, shake your groove thang, yea yea!" but insists on singing "Shake your booty shake your booty, yea yea!" Landon "copied" him the other day and sang, "Shake your booty shake your booty, e-i-e-i-o!"

Got these tidbits from Maw (my mom) today

Yesterday we were outside and Landon wanted to know what a noise was. I told him I didn't know and he said it was that big old dishwasher. I asked him what dishwasher and he pointed at the air conditioner, which was running, and said that big old dishwasher.

Landon keeps asking where his house is when we are riding in the car. I tried to teach him "Taylor Bend" but I think that for a while your house is going to be on "Tater".

If this is what they're doing in 2nd grade...
